Well written but quite a mixture of spiritual beliefs
The Wheel will hold your attention. Hellman crafts a good, solid story, although the lines between good and evil can be blurred at times. Uriel works for God, and Amzadeum (Broussard) and Jordan are the Anti-god's son and daughter. Although the Anti-god and his children stay pretty true to character, Uriel and his long term soulmate, Alexandra, take a few turns onto the dark side. Maria, however, another ancient fighter for God, tends to stay put in his kingdom. Seeing auras are not giftings from God's kingdom, and witchcraft would never be learned or entered into by someone purely on God's side.An interesting twist were the few who were raised from the dead by Amzadeum. Nurse Rimley actually was quite an accurate depiction of a true Zombie...like the ones in Haïti. The one thing that made her and Mrs. Randall out of character for zombies were the emotions they showed. True zombies, once resurrected, are virtually emotionless. Yes, zombies are real, documented in medical records no less. No, they do not resemble those from "Zombie Apocalypse".Second downside...the French and Latin were not accurate, in case anyone may have taken note.But both the spiritual and language inaccuracies can be forgiven. Set aside time for this one, you can hardly put it down.

The Wheel was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend it to people as the new book to read. It was full of mystery and suspense and I found it a very difficult book to put down. As each chapter came to an end I was anxious to begin the next chapter. The description of each character by the author enabled me to be pulled into their role in this book. What a great read and I am anxiously waiting for the next book!
The Wheel was a new adventure for me! I am usually a non-fiction or historical fiction reader. Being a reading specialist I always motivated my students and peers to read all different genres. I cannot believe how the author, Mark Hellman, kept me in the palm of his hand! His character development, suspense, and knowledge of mysticism, religion,and the supernatural helps to educate the reader. I had trouble putting this book down and the story stayed with me for several days after I finished the last page. What a great read and I am anxiously waiting for the next book!!
